Ir a la sección
We are excited to share that Youmian Textile is expanding. Our new weaving mill—an 18,000-square-meter addition built out within our existing 46,000-square-meter weaving base—will come online in Q4 2026, adding 420,000 meters of monthly weaving capacity (an increase of about 8%) and enabling us to serve growing demand from hotel partners across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. This expansion represents the largest single capital investment in our company’s history and reflects our confidence in the global hospitality market’s continued recovery and growth. Here is what this means for our clients, partners, and the communities we operate in.
Why We Are Expanding Now
Over the past three years, we have experienced sustained demand growth that has pushed our existing weaving capacity to its practical limits. Several factors drive this growth:
- Hospitality sector recovery: Global hotel occupancy has rebounded to pre-pandemic levels, with RevPAR growing 8–12% annually across our major markets as of 2025–2026.
- Reshoring and diversification: Hotel groups are diversifying their linen supply chains away from single-source dependence, and our vertically integrated model has attracted new clients seeking reliable, quality-controlled manufacturing.
- Sustainable product demand: Our rPET and organic cotton product lines have grown 65% year-over-year as hotels implement ESG procurement mandates.
- OEM/ODM partnerships: Custom private-label programs for hotel groups and linen rental companies have increased order volumes beyond our existing capacity, with some partners placing annual contracts exceeding 500,000 pieces.
Rather than simply running more shifts—which would have stressed our workforce and quality control systems—we chose to invest in a purpose-built expansion designed for efficiency, sustainability, and product quality.

What the Expansion Enables
1. Shorter Lead Times for Standard and Custom Orders
The additional weaving capacity allows us to reduce standard production lead times from 35–45 days to 25–35 days for most SKUs. For repeat orders on existing specifications, we are targeting 20-day turnaround by Q2 2027, supported by a new raw material safety stock program for our top 50 most-ordered fabrics. This means our hotel partners can carry less safety inventory and respond more quickly to renovation cycles, seasonal demand spikes, and emergency top-up needs.
2. Expanded OEM/ODM Capabilities
The new facility includes a dedicated custom development line with 20 sample looms and a rapid prototyping workshop. This reduces sample development time from 15–20 days to 7–10 days for custom weaves, colors, and finishes. For hotel groups developing proprietary bedding programs—such as custom dobby weaves, branded jacquard borders, or unique fabric blends—this acceleration means faster time-to-market for new brand standards and renovation rollouts. Our OEM/ODM service now supports lower minimums for sampling and pre-production runs, making custom programs accessible to smaller hotel groups and independent properties.
3. Broader Sustainable Product Range
Approximately 30% of the new mill’s capacity is dedicated to sustainable fiber production, including rPET (recycled polyester), organic cotton, TENCEL™ lyocell, and blended sustainable fabrics. This dedicated capacity prevents the production bottlenecks that previously delayed EcoLine and organic cotton orders during peak seasons. It also enables us to offer more competitive pricing on sustainable products as we achieve economies of scale—a key goal as we work toward making eco-friendly hotel linens accessible at price points close to conventional alternatives.
4. Enhanced Quality Control
The new mill is equipped with automated fabric inspection systems that use computer vision to detect weaving defects at full production speed—catching flaws that human inspectors might miss at high line speeds. Every meter of fabric from the new looms passes through this inspection before reaching the cutting and sewing floor. Combined with our existing ISO 9001 quality management system and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, this investment further reduces defect rates and ensures consistency across large-volume orders.
Sustainability at the Core of the Expansion
We did not simply add more machines—we built a facility designed to reduce our environmental footprint per meter of fabric produced. Key sustainable features include:
- 1.8 MW solar array: Roof-mounted solar panels generate approximately 2.2 GWh of electricity annually, covering 35% of the new facility’s energy needs and reducing grid electricity consumption by 1,500 MWh per year.
- Low-energy air-jet looms: The new generation looms consume 25% less electricity per meter than our existing equipment, thanks to improved motor efficiency and compressed air recovery systems.
- LED lighting and smart HVAC: Motion-activated LED lighting and a zone-controlled HVAC system reduce non-production energy use by 40% compared to the existing facility.
- Rainwater harvesting: A 200 m³ collection system captures roof rainwater for landscape irrigation and toilet facilities, reducing municipal water consumption by an estimated 3,000 m³ annually.
- Natural ventilation and daylighting: The building’s design incorporates skylights and operable ventilation louvers to reduce artificial lighting and cooling needs during mild weather.
- Waste heat recovery: Heat generated by the loom air compressors is captured and used to pre-heat water for the dyeing facility, reducing natural gas consumption by an estimated 8%.
These features are projected to reduce the carbon intensity of fabric production in the new mill by 30% compared to our existing facility, supporting our science-based target of reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 42% by 2030.
Investing in People
Expanding our physical capacity means investing in our team. The new mill creates 180 new positions, including 40 skilled weaving technicians, 30 quality control specialists, 20 maintenance engineers, and 90 production and warehouse staff. We have partnered with two local textile vocational schools to create an apprenticeship program that combines classroom training with paid on-the-job experience, with a goal of hiring 80% of new technicians from the local community.
All new employees receive our standard training program covering quality systems, workplace safety, chemical handling, and our code of conduct. The new facility includes upgraded staff amenities—air-conditioned break rooms, a subsidized canteen, and a health clinic—continuing our commitment to providing safe, dignified working conditions across all operations.

Technology and Innovation in the New Mill
The expansion is not just about adding square footage—it is about upgrading our manufacturing technology across every stage of production. The new air-jet looms operate at 20% higher insertion rates than our previous generation while reducing compressed air consumption through electronic pressure control per weft insertion. This means more fabric per hour with less energy per meter—a double benefit for both our productivity and our environmental targets.
We are also installing a new automated dyeing kitchen that precisely mixes and dispenses dyestuffs and chemicals through closed-loop piping. This eliminates human error in color formulation, reduces chemical waste by 15%, and improves color consistency from batch to batch—a critical advantage for hotel groups with multiple properties that require identical linens across locations.
In the cutting and sewing department, new automated fabric spreaders and computer-controlled cutting machines reduce fabric waste by 8–10% compared to manual spreading. For an average bedding set requiring 4.5 meters of fabric, this translates to approximately 0.4 meters saved per set—over 100,000 meters of fabric conserved annually across our production volume.
Quality Assurance and Certification
The new facility maintains and extends our existing quality certifications. We have designed the quality control laboratory to accommodate expanded testing capabilities, including:
- Martindale abrasion testing: Simulates years of use to predict fabric pilling and wear
- Tensile and tear strength testing: Verifies that every batch meets ASTM D5034 and ISO 13934 standards
- Dimensional stability testing: Washes and remeasures fabric to confirm shrinkage within specification
- Color spectrophotometry: Digitally measures color accuracy against Pantone and customer-approved standards
- Flammability testing: Ensures compliance with CAL TB 117, NFPA 701, and other hospitality fire safety standards
Our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system covers the new facility from day one, and our products remain covered by OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification (Class II) for chemical safety, alongside our ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 45001 occupational-health and safety management systems across the expanded campus.
Community and Economic Impact
The expansion’s benefits extend beyond our company and clients. The 180 new positions provide stable manufacturing employment with benefits including health insurance, subsidized meals, and skills training. Our apprenticeship partnership with local textile schools creates a pathway for young people to enter the industry with marketable technical skills. The construction phase itself employed approximately 250 local workers over 10 months.
We have also committed to sourcing 40% of the new mill’s non-production supplies—from packaging materials to maintenance parts—from local and regional suppliers, supporting the broader manufacturing ecosystem in our region.
A Note of Gratitude
This expansion would not have been possible without the trust and partnership of our hotel clients, distributors, and suppliers around the world. Every order, every referral, and every piece of feedback has helped us grow from a small weaving workshop into a global hotel linen manufacturer serving clients on five continents. We are particularly grateful to the hotel groups that have renewed multi-year contracts with us—your confidence is what made this investment possible.
We also want to acknowledge our 620 existing team members whose dedication to quality and craftsmanship has built the reputation that fills our order books. The 180 new colleagues joining us will help carry that reputation forward.
We invite our partners and prospective clients to visit the expanded facility in person once production is online. Virtual tours are also available for those unable to travel.
